File Extension SIG

As written before, file extensions are required to decide which program to launch when a file is “run”. One file extension you probably often overlook is File Extension SIG. File extension SIG is for signature file which are included when the user composes an email in the email client software of his choice. The .SIG file is automatically attached to the email message by the software. Small text file that can be automatically attached to the end of e-mail messages; usually includes the sender’s name and e-mail address; for work e-mail, the signature may also include the name of the person’s company, the person’s title, and contact phone numbers; some people choose to include a quote or Bible verse in their e-mail signature. Most e-mail programs support multiple signature files; although Qualcomm Eudora Pro and Microsoft Outlook are known to support the format for sure.
The second file format ending with a File Extension SIG is an image based file, and is a proprietary file format developed by Broderbund, a software development company. Image format used for signs and posters created with Broderbund graphics software, such as PrintMaster and The Print Shop. .SIG files can be opened with the program that created the file and possibly with other Broderbund programs or versions, but compatibility is not guaranteed.
